iLearnabout extends outreach to Malawi

Hope4Malawi, a UK based charity that provides education facilities and training in Southern Malawi is piloting iLearnabout in rural communities, and introduced the digital conservation materials to school leavers from 4 different primary schools at its skills centre.

Recent lessons, seen here, introduced the 'importance of soil' topic and demonstrated composting, mixed planting and rubbish clearance along with a practical challenge which was successfully implemented on the school farm. Initial feedback on the iLearnabout classes commented that the way the language is spoken on the videos and the immediacy of the issues to the learners was excellent, engaging and relevant, adding that when the children go back to their villages, the issues raised are right in front of them.

Sara Goodman co-founder of Hope4Malawi said ‘The children loved both the digital learning and also the practical tasks. It was great to see such high engagement and reinforced learning which will have a long term impact’
