Powering conservation
education
The iLearnabout education platform
iLearnabout is building a suite of free, on-line and downloadable environmental education resources designed specifically for teachers and children in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Working with conservation organisations and after-school clubs, and guided by national curricula and the Sustainable Development Goals, iLearnabout has developed a framework of topic packs which explore key global and local environmental conservation issues.
Three-step learning methodology
Digital topic packs
A choice of 24 topic packs from 6 themes allows organisations and teachers to pick the topics they need to suit their learners and their context, using 3 modules in each topic, including practical activities. All 72 modules are aimed at improving awareness and understanding of environmental conservation and climate sustainable development issues.
Topics available now are: Biodiversity, Climate Change, Soil, Wildlife Conservation, Forests, and Water and Livelihoods, with Humans and Wildlife in development.
